The phone rang at four thirty in the morning. Must be a birth. Good. A whole week has gone by with no news and I was beginning to get that "itchy" feeling in my hands. I loaded up the car and had a beautifully empty road from Yeshrash to Sde Hemed. It's a delight to drive at night in Israel when there is no traffic and even the maniacs are asleep. There she was grunting on the toilet. We hugged each other, as we had not seen each other since the last baby two years ago. I helped her birth her first in Misgav Ledach, and her second at home, and now we were working on number three. As she always did, she birthed beautifully squatting on the floor after an hour and a half. It was hard pushing for her, as this baby was a whole kilo more than her other two. He weighed 4100 grams. Just then her two older ones woke up and came in to greet their new baby brother. They watched as we weighed him and dressed him, and he had a good long nurse. Her man made us a great breakfast while she showered. I feel fulfilled again. I'm waiting for the next adventure!!
