The child learns to 'go potty' in the grown-ups place - it can be a good motivation for many children who like to mimic. x 2. No need to clean anything (except the baby's behind, of course). Just flush the toilet and you're done! x Disadvantages: x 1. There is a falling hazard - you have to be close to the child and watch that he/she doesn't slide off. x 2 The child needs assistance getting on and off the seat. 3. Some children get scared from the flushing sound or from 'monsters' climing out of the toilet 4. There is free access to the toilet paper roll - an invitation for a messy game! (I don't mind that one, really) x Sir (potty): x Advantages: x 1. The child can 'go potty' anytime, anywhere in the house, and doesn't need to ait for someone else to finish with the toilet. You can take the potty in the car too. x 2. The child can sit and get up by him/herself 3. It's the child's 'personal' place - some children like the idea of having 'their own place to go potty'. x Disadvantages: x 1. Needs cleaning after every use 2. Also needs constant supervision - the child can reach inside and 'inspect the products' x 3. Cleaning has to be immediate, particularly if you have other children/pets in the house ... x I hope I didn't forget anything. x We use both Yashvanon and potty successfully.
