Dear Limor, You would be wise to count your blessings. Most of the stories of hospital births in the forum with epidurals end with vacuum or forceps or Cesarians. You were absolutely right about waiting for 5 centimeters for less complications, and you should be joyous that your body was not interfered with and you were able to give birth. Pain is part of childbirth, and the sooner we women learn to accept it instead of refusing it then our births and babies and bodies will be healthier. It is unfortunate that you had an enema, had to have your legs held, and were cut. None of that should have been necessary. Perhaps you lost a lot of blood from the cut, or maybe no one gave you your baby to nurse after birth. What can I say, when I read about the average hospital birth I am amazed that women still go to hospital to have their babies. Mazal Tov and feel that you were blessed with an easy and natural birth, despite the unpleasant environment. Ilana
