Hi, Caroline Flint is a wonderful midwife who has written many books, including "Sensitive Midwifery", and has a big private practice in the London area. I know somewone who used her and was everjoyed. Ruth Tamir, (who I helped birth at home for her first birth in Israel many years ago) will be very knowledgable about birth in England, and she is also involved with the National Childbirth Trust, which is another great source of information. Ellen gave you her details. Also check out the Active Birth Center run by Janet Balaskas for childbirth preparation and birth information. England is a great place to birth because you have many options. Homebirth is alive and well and on the rise, there is also a birthing center in Edgeware, and even waterbirth is popular in many hospitals. There are good public and private options. Best of luck! Ilana Shemesh
