Interesting story Sara, but here I do believe she was really in labor, since she was dilating, and then on the third day her water did break. Also she did have 3 weeks of contractions like your were talking about, and went several times to labor room and was sent home. She said that this time the contractions were much stronger and that it was different. Anyway, even I am not cool enough to let a woman go to 44 weeks, since the neonatal mortality (death) rate goes up much higher after 42 weeks, because you never know at what point the placenta is not functioning well. Of course, you need to make sure there are not mistakes in dates, which often happen with irregular periods or women breastfeeding while getting pregnant. We also waited for 2 days before doing all those natural accelerating things. Nothing seemed to help, like she just was depleted of the normal body energy and hormones for birthing normally.
