not a direct connection between pain and size of baby

Iris, the pain is not directly connected to the size of the baby. However, if the baby is very big it may take longer to push out, and this can be perceived as more painful, since pain threshold is connected to duration of pain. On the other hand, I remember lots of nice easy first births with big babies. Sometimes smaller babies even had longer births, so it really depends a lot on your pelvic dimensions and the shape and position of the babies head. If the baby is posterior, then the labor is longer and it is harder to push out. Think positive, most women have super pelves, and most babies are in the right position. It all works so well!
