question to ilana shemesh about prolapsed cords

when baby is breech and there is a cord prolapse, unlike when there is a head down presention, that can compress the cord - - when the baby is breech seemingly there is no compression as the head is all the way up, and its body isn't filling the pelvic that can compress the cord. and when baby is born the moment of the compression is minimal as the baby is born so why is it a concern? thanks for insight
